Opening:  Communication Specialist

  • Position Type: Part-time, 24 hours
  • Starting Salary Range: $19.00-$20.00/Hr.

The Communication Specialist performs communication and administrative activities, including graphic design, social media marketing, publication development, community outreach, maintaining agency records, and coordinating office operations for the Executive Director and the management team. The position is approximately 50% communication/marketing duties and 50% administrative duties. This position is office-based, with some flexibility in work hours.  A benefits package includes holiday, vacation, and sick/personal time, and an annual SEP-IRA contribution.

Communications duties

  • Create content for social media, newsletters, publications, and press releases in a variety of styles based on objectives, audience, and medium.
  • Design brochures, flyers, and reports.
  • Collect and analyze marketing results.
  • Take photographs and video; edit both as needed.
  • Collaborate with website manager to update the CCRB’s WordPress-based website.
  • Represent the organization at community events.
  • Proficient with social media – Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Basic experience using WordPress, Constant Contact, Canva, Buffer, and Wix

Administrative duties

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing correspondences and communication (mail, emails, and phone calls)
  • Coordination, scheduling, and documentation of Board meetings and minutes
  • Maintain and coordinate calendars for organization
  • Organize and maintain both electronic and paper files
  • Prepare materials for Board meetings and arrange meeting logistics
  • Assist with data entry in grants database
  • Support management team and Board of Directors

Basic Qualifications

  1. Knowledge: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience, but not required
  2. Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of office and marketing experience or equivalent.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, editing and proofreading, a results-oriented work process, working with numbers and databases, exercise discretion regarding confidential information, and communicate clearly through both oral and written means
  4. Software: Microsoft products, graphic design software, social media and marketing platforms
